|  Connecticut's previous Small Business Week winner Cabrera Services Inc. (Cabrera) is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a call to community service. Founder and Chairman of the Board, Lorenzo Cabrera, is challenging every Cabrera employee to volunteer two hours of service in his or her local community. Cabrera was founded in July of 1994 by Lorenzo Cabrera, a Radiological Sciences graduate from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Lorenzo developed the idea of starting Cabrera Services to fill the niche void in the radiological services market. He started his company with a $100,000 SBA loan, a well-written business plan with the help of SCORE, and a small office space that housed him and two other employees. Fast forward to 2014 and Cabrera's 84 employees to-date. SBA recognizes the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners and celebrates these accomplishments during Small Business Week. As a graduate of the SBA, 8a program in 2007, Lorenzo Cabrera and Cabrera Services has earned numerous awards recognizing their quality performance and leadership in their field of environmental remediation. Cabrera Services is a prime example of an extraordinary small business in Connecticut and in previous years has won several SBA awards during Small Business Week: - 2001 Small Business Subcontractor of the Year
