Light amounts of African dust could raise the daily PM2.5 AQI into the "Moderate" range over parts of South, Southeast, and Central Texas. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.
Friday 07/18/14
If incoming background levels are high enough, winds may be light enough for ozone to reach "Moderate" levels in the El Paso area with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening. Decreasing levels of African dust may still linger over parts of South, Southeast, and Central Texas, but daily PM2.5 AQI levels are expected to remain at the upper end of the "Good" range over most of this area, with isolated low-end "Moderate" levels possible in spots. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.
